The purpose of this assignment with NRC was to assist NRC’s senior management make informed decisions regarding the growth of collaboration with development donors. NRC has historically worked primarily with humanitarian donors. To bridge the increasing gap between humanitarian needs and available humanitarian funds, NRC is increasing its collaboration with development donors. This comes with some different requirements, expectations and ways of working.
Mapped lessons learnt from NRC’s past experiences with development donors, through a desk review of documents and interviews with relevant roles at the Head Office, Regional Offices and Country Offices as well as the offices in Geneva and Brussels.
Conducted an assessment of organisational capacity to comply with development donor requirements while also remaining compliant with humanitarian principles per own organisational policy.
Analysed findings on gaps and challenges related to, and opportunities for NRC to grow collaboration with development donors and provided concrete recommendations on how NRC can best invest time and resources in that collaboration.
